Annual drama festival inaugurated

Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha inaugurated the annual drama festival on Saturday at the Mylapore Fine Arts Club. The festival, which will be held for 20 days, will see Chennai’s prominent theatre groups participate. The sabha’s annual award was conferred on artist T.D. Sundararajan. Actors Visu and S.V. Shekar were among those present at the event.
Singer T. M. Krishna has been chosen for the fifth Indira Sivasailam Endowment Medal and Concert 2014. This honour has been conferred since 2010 on various artists including Sudha Ragunathan, Sanjay Subrahmanyan, Aruna Sairam and Bombay Jayashri Ramnath. The fifth Indira Sivasailam Endowment Concert will be held at The Music Academy on September 25.
