Liquor prices to go up today in Tamil Nadu

Liquor prices in Tamil Nadu will go up today as the state government on Monday introduced a bill in the assembly to increase excise duty on Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL).
The bill sought to enhance the maximum rate of excise duty in respect of ordinary, medium and premium brands to Rs 250, Rs 300 and Rs 500 respectively per proof litre.
Each case of IMFL containing nine bulk litres or less than nine bulk litres shall be considered containing 6.75 proof litres and excise duty shall be levied accordingly.
TASMAC will issue new price list from today.
