Four-day conference to discuss ways to achieve ‘zero hunger’ through ‘family farming’

A four-day conference to discuss ways to achieve ‘zero hunger’ through ‘family farming’ will be held at the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation from August 7 to 10. Ministerial delegates from 12 countries across the Asia-Pacific region and more than 200 people representing various organizations and farmers’ groups will participate in the event.The conference on the ‘Role of family farming in the 21st century: Achieving the zero hunger challenge by 2050’ will have five plenary sessions dealing with subjects like sustainability, gender, profitability, nutrition and technology in relation to family farming.
 
Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh, ministerial delegates from Afghanistan, Australia, Cambodia, Fiji, Maldives, Nepal, Samoa, Sri Lanka and Vietnam will be participating in the conference.
