100 Additional Small Buses to be expected for South Parts!

Following the announcement on roll out of 100 additional small buses by Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation Limited (MTC) has been on track for identifying new routes.
Officials are analyzing the routes considering the income ranges of the people dwelling in the localities and are considering areas where the share auto-rickshaw services tower above.
Reliable sources express that the mini buses will be compressed in several parts of the city where development has been impulsive. The southern parts are growing up faster, when compared to north Chennai. Thus, more routes will be kicking off in those parts, said the source.
Accounting the months amid October 2013 to July 2014, the small buses generated revenue of above Rs 11 Crores, said the senior MTC officials. These 100 small buses are plying all over the city, thereby linking unreached areas and approximately more than 77,500 commuters travel every day.
Many commuters said that the small buses are very helpful, since it moves gradually via residential areas and they are able to save lot of money.
Director of Traffic and Transportation Forum of Nanganallur region whispered that, Nanganallur residents were badly in need of more small bus services, as the auto-rickshaws charge more for even small distances and also it does not cover up hefty parts of Nanganallur.
