Will AAI Pull Out Vehicle Veto!

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will reconsider its verdict in opposing the car entry into the entrance area of the latest domestic terminal, later than 15 August. 

On Monday, Mr. H. S. Suresh, airport director said that this decision was made by the police and AAI conjointly.

More number of vehicles parked on the service road adds more congestion in the area and impedes the unbound flow of traffic. Hence it would be good to permit the vehicles till the parking zone and not more than that, said the police officials.

On receiving incessant grievances from senior citizens and differently-abled persons, the airport authorities had determined to let in the vehicles that had turn up to lift up senior citizens or differently-abled persons, said the airport director.

The new traffic arrangements that poised on 7 July will place a key problem for air passengers who arrive in Chennai, said the members of Air Passengers Association of India.

The idea behind this new traffic arrangement was a plan amid the police and the parking lot service provider. It will be more difficult to trace out the vehicles in the parking lot especially during rainy days and after dark, he added.

Police officials must normalize the traffic of vehicles within the airport and ought to impose heavy fine on violators, so as to keep the airport grounds free from unsolicited vehicles.
