Subway planned at Vadapalani

The state proposes to build a subway in Vadapalani across NSK Salai. This is among the infrastructure projects proposed for the city.
The project locally hopes to give access to pedestrians at the hugely busy area around the MTC bus terminus which is a scene of chaos at most times of the day.
Vadapalani is supposed to gain from many civic projects. The main is a flyover across the Mtero rail system for which prelim wor is on now.
A Mono Rail proposal is also on the table, linking this area with those to its west. Because of this plan, some local projects have been held back since plans could affect each other.
A flyover near the 80Feet Road junction further west of this zone was also debated by the civic body but seems to be in the freezer now.
