Another 200 Amma Canteens to be opened in 2 months!

Amma canteens have been opened to cater to the poor people at a cheaper price. They have been opened in most wards in Chennai and corporations of other major cities.
Chennai Corporation had already announced that there will be at least 1 Amma Canteen in every ward. For implementing the same, Chennai Corporation is the process of deciding the Amma Canteen locations in different wards.
Activities for opening Amma Canteens are under full swing. It is expected that 200 more Amma Canteens are set to be opened in the next 2 months.
Hospitals - In addition, Amma canteens are to be opened in Kilapauk & Royappetta government hospitals, Royapuram RSRM Hospital, and Kasturba Children and Women Hospital in Triplicane.
Amma Canteens will be located in Government owned places. As only flooring is to be completed, it is expected that the building work will be complete in 45 days.
Attempts are being made to locate Amma Canteens near hutments and low income group constructions. It is planned to open the additional 200 Amma Canteens in the next 2 months.
