Signs of commencement of Metro Rail service

Koyambedu is ready with 12 metro rail trains for commencement of service between Koyambedu and Alandur. Nine 4-car trains have arrived from Brazil here. It was during last week that the last two trains reached the port from which they two were shifted to Koyambedu. Furthermore, trains are getting manufactured at Alstom’s factory at SriCity. According to the contract, it was planned to import the first nine rakes of the 42 rakes train from Brazil plant. Additionally, three rakes were supplied from SriCity, near Chennai.
