10 Lakh families targeted for CM’s extended medical coverage scheme

The state government has set 10 lakh families to be covered by the Chief Minister’s Extended Medical Coverage Plan in Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur Districts. Camps are being organised to enlist families in these 3 districts.
Who are eligible to join?
All green Card family holders can join. Those whose annual income rose above the limit cannot join.

Details of treatment
For each family covered under the scheme, the government will give Rs. 4 Lakhs at Rs. 1 Lakh per year for medical treatment.
For some specialised treatments, the amount will be Rs. 1.5 Lakhs.
The treatments cover infants, 1016 treatment procedures, and 113 continued treatments.
23 diagnostic procedures are covered under this scheme.
The treatment will cover 7 days – 1 day before the commencement of treatment and 5 days after the treatment.
All medical tests will be covered under the scheme.
The scheme also covers liver or kidney transplant, Bone marrow, and cochlear transplant operations.
