Another Lube Oil Leakage from Pipeline – North Chennai

On Sunday morning, it has been noticed a lube oil leakage in the subversive pipeline alongside of the Ennore Expressway in north Chennai.
Populace of Kasimedu started gathering outsized amount of the oil from the leakage.
Oil that belongs to the Indian Oil Corporation Limited has been impelled from the Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited’s plant in Manali to an oil tank placed at the Chennai Port and the leak occurs here.
The base oil has been encumbered on to the 6000 ton tanker Crystal to the IOCL’s lube merger processing plant in Kolkata.
CPCL officers said that the oil pushing has been closed around 7.30 AM, at once we have got news about the seep out from IOCL, whose squad had dotted the oil.
Despite of out periodic checks for the leakages on the pipeline, this peep out is very minute and might be caused because of the surfeit pressure from the heaviness of the container vehicles that draw on the road, described a IOCL source.
Officials from the respective companies hurried towards the spot and took necessary steps to surround the leak. Leakage has been rectified for the pumping process by 7PM.
