Great decline in interest to join engineering courses!

Posted on: 07/Jun/2014 2:23:09 PM
Now-a-days, there is an increasing trend among the students who have completed 12th standard or +2 to think about the selection of a particular branch of the course rather than thinking about which course to join. So far, there have been huge rushes every year to join engineering courses.

However, the current year has shown a remarkable reduction in the trend as reflected by the number of applications distributed for engineering courses.

2,35,211 applications were sold in 2013. In the current year 2014, this has reduced to 2,11,759 applications sold.

The number of applications received for joining engineering courses was 1,90,850 in 2013. For 2014, it has come down to 1,75,000.

There are 2 reasons put forth by education experts as well as students. First, the scope for jobs after completion of course has become difficult. Second, the students have shown moore interest in the new courses on offer.

Educationists observe that whether it is engineering or any other course, there will be good scope for students who develop their skills on their subject of speciality.
