Chennaites will no more enjoy pleasant weather. The average temperature in the city is expected to rise, according to the weatherman, beginning Saturday as the low pressure area off the coast of north Kerala continues to move north towards Karnataka, which means the city would not experience rains for a few days.
Chennai experienced a relatively-pleasant weather in the first week of May contrary to astrological predictions of ‘kathiri’. The maximum temperature in the city on Friday was 34.1 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 26.8 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was a moderate 78%, among the lowest in the state at this time of the year. Chennai is expected to record a maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius in the course of this month.
