Due to heavy rainfall in several southern districts in TamilNadu, the windmill production of electricity has touched 1,110 MW.

Below furnished, is the detailed report given by the Electricity Board officers.

Electricity Production

We will be announcing the period from June to August month, as ‘Peak Load Months’, since the windmill will show high electricity generation. This is because the wind blow will be high in this season.

Usually, the power generated during this period ranges from 3,500 to 4000 MW. During the rest of the months, windmill production will be only in double-digit or in the least case the production will be null. But this year even before this peak load season starts, due to rainfall, windmill starts its power generation.

Continuous Rainfall

The windmill power station, which are located in the places like Aralvaimozhi from Kanyakumari, Muppanthal, Thuthukudi, Kayathar, Udumalpettai from Tirupur and many surrounding regions lies in the top priority of the list of the windmill stations.

Due to the low pressure monsoon formed in the Kanyakumari sea core, surrounding regions are getting continuous rainfall for the past few days.

For the past two days, the windmill production reaches 1,110 MW in total. Moreover, the rainfall will be heavy for the next 48 hours, says the Regional Meteorological department. Hence we are expecting more production in the upcoming days, officials say.
