Total e-governance in the colleges - What will be happening in all the colleges in TN?

During the admission time, speedy as well as effective administration would be required and the government of Tamil Nadu has decided to implement total e-governance in the Directorate of Collegiate Education. By e-governance, teachers as well as the students would be highly benefited.
They would be able to get the best services by integrated and user friendly software, mainly for transparency, efficiency and reliability to attain global standards in higher education.
It is important to mention that the areas covered under e-governance project would be interaction among faculty and departments, integration of finance and accounts plus student enrolment and admission, examination and certification, research and development, student placements and enhancement of teaching skills of faculty.
The Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 99.80 lakhs for phase-1 of the project and Rs 132 crores for phase-2 of the project. This was according to a senior officer belonging to the higher education department. He explained that for office administration and integration of the directorate with joint directorates and colleges in Tamil Nadu, the e-governance agency of the state has been developing required software.
The superb piece of information is that all Government arts and sciences colleges across Tamil Nadu would be networked with optic fibre connectivity to improve IT infrastructure of the institution.
It is learnt that under the e-governance programme there would be installation of a centralized communication system. In addition to this, video conferences and other online facilities would be enhanced for the current system. Centralized academic information and learning management system would be created for all the colleges by the e-governance initiative
There would be improvement in the existing services of the website of the Directorate of Collegiate Education. In addition, an online scholarship management system would be developed and by this all the transactions of the beneficiaries would be transparent.
