No special classes for school students in this upcoming summer holidays in TN

In the month of April itself the heat that is present in the state of Tamil Nadu has become very high and this heat is now making lives of many difficult. This unprecedented heat has now caught the attention of many including the director of matriculation schools. The important information is the director of matriculation schools in TN has banned all the special classes during the summer holidays. It is known that the state board schools would be closing their schools for the summer holidays from 12th of April onwards.

On Tuesday, 9th April 2019, a circular was sent to all chief educational officers by the director of matriculation schools, Mr. R. Kannappan. In the circular it was stated that the directorate had got several complaints from the parents that private schools were conducting special classes during the summer holidays. As per Mr. Kannappan, the students might get affected with many heat related diseases if they are forced to attend the special classes during the summer vacations. It is worthy to note that the private schools strictly need to be instructed not to conduct any special classes during the vacation. This was mentioned in the circular that was sent to all chief educational officers.

The director further asked the officials to take immediate action if they receive any complaints from the parents regarding the special classes during the summer vacations. This year 2019 for the sake of general elections the school education department has advanced the closure of all the schools by 10 days is known.

As per Mr. V.C. Rameswaramurugan, school education director, all schools including CBSE and other board schools should not conduct any classes during the summer vacations. He then spoke about the academic calendar that was different for CBSE schools. Advise would be given to CBSE schools regarding non- conduction of classes during the summer vacations. The important point is according to the original schedule the academic calendar for the CBSE schools would end on 26th April.

It was pointed out by Radhika Unni, principal of SBOA schools and junior college, Chennai that the state government had sent a circular to keep 12th April as the last working day due to the upcoming elections. Point is lower classes till 8th standard would be given holidays and for board exam students portions need to be completed. It is now said that the CBSE students would be asked to come half a day till 26th of April 2019.
