Following the petition filed by Nestle India, the Bombay High Court reserved its orders till 3rd of August. Nestle India filed the petition against orders issued by Food Safety Standards Authority of India, and Food and Drugs Administration of Maharashtra and banned Maggi.

Nestle claims that their product did not contain excessive amount of lead above the permitted level and challenges tests by FFSAI and FDA, whereas according to food regulators, excessive amount of lead was detected during lab tests conducted on Maggi and it was declared harmful to health.

Justice V.M. Kanade and B.P. Colabawala reserved the order by food regulatory and asked either sides for conducting fresh independent tests. However, no consensus is so far received from any of the two parties.

According to the lawyer of Nestle, Iqbal Chhagla, the tests are to be conducted in the presence of renowned scientists and samples available with the company are to be used for the same. Darius Khambata who appears on behalf of FDA said one sample from the lot collected by state need to be used.
