Healthy Food Recipes - Pepper Rasam

What you need:

1 big tomato (or 2 medium)
I small lemon sized ball of tamarind
1 tsp whole peppercorns
1 tsp jeera
2 - 3 cloves garlic
A pinch of haldi powder
1/2 tsp sambar powder
A handful of curry leaves
1 tsp Oil/ ghee
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 dried red chilli broken in half
Chopped dhania leaves
Salt to taste.

Method:

Chop tomato.
Soak tamarind in warm water and take out pulp.
Coarsely grind garlic pods, pepper and jeera with a little water.
Boil together tamarind, chopped tomato, haldi, ground paste, sambar powder, 1/2 of the curry leaves and salt. Add water.
Cook till raw smell goes away.
Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves and red chilli.
Garnish with chopped dhania leaves.
