The formation of atmospheric air circulation has been pulling the SW monsoon and due to this all the districts belonging to Tamil Nadu would receive rains till 16th of June2025. This was mentioned by some meteorologists.
The atmospheric air circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal is moving towards the Odisha and North Andhra coast. In this scenario, from yesterday ( 8th June) onwards, a combination of north westerly warm steam and cold air or cooling wind from west along with easterly winds have led to rains in the north coast of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet , Villupuram, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Thirupathur and Ranipet districts in TN.
Tonight, there is a possibility of heavy rains along the Delta districts in TN. On the morning of 10th June, Kodiyakarai would receive heavy rains also. Later, on that evening there would be more rain in that Kodiyakarai area. There would be the possibility of SW monsoon also. It must be noted that the air circulation along the vangakadal would move towards the Odisha coast and attract the SW monsoon. The air circulation would increase gradually and it would pass through Tamil Nadu. It is mentioned that a NW heat wave along with SW monsoons and easterly winds would join to bring rains in TN.
The Delta regions in TN would receive increased rains on 11th and 12th June. There would be good rains in places like Thalainyagiru, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthturai, Vedaranyam etc on 13th June. From 12th June to 16th June, the SW monsoons would enter TN and this would reduce the temperature and there would be rains. From 8th June to 16th June, all the districts present in TN would receive rains. On 20th June, there would be another atmospheric air circulation along Bay of Bengal and it would move towards Odisha.
According to the release from the RMC in Chennai, in most places across TN yesterday the temperature yesterday was 2 degrees to 4 degrees higher than normal. Maximum temperature of 104 degrees Celsius was recorded in Vellore and was followed by 102 degrees Celsius in Erode and Trichy. Max temp of 101 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chennai. Places such as Parangipettai, Tiruttani, Thanjavur, Karur and Pondicherry recorded 100 degrees Celsius.
On 10th June, there would be rains in places like Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Thirupathur, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalre districts etc. On 11th June, places like Coimbatore district, Nilgris district, Krishnagiri, Dharmapri etc would receive rains.
