After increasing rapidly in the month of January, the Coronavirus infection has been decreasing gradually and normalcy has been returning back once again in Tamil Nadu. It must be noted that new relaxations have been announced from tomorrow. It is known that devotees are allowed in the shrines in TN now as the number of Covid-19 cases have reduced. Truth is that the district administrations are allowed to impose restrictions depending on the vulnerabilities.
In this scenario, the district collector has announced that the ban on Girivalam in the Tiruvannamalai temple would continue. From tonight, the first full moon in the month of Masi will be observed. Statement was released by the district administration in this regard and from the statement it was clear that despite the reduction in the Coronavirus infection pandemic the district as well as the state administrations have been taking many preventive steps to bring the infection under control. Many devotees would take part in Girivalam around the hill behind the Sri Arunachaleswarar temple on the full moon day. Point is that the full moon day time period would last from 10:30 pm on 15th of February to 11:30 pm on 16th of February.
Information collected is that the devotees would not be allowed for Girivalam in this temple till the end of the full moon. The public have been requested to cooperate with the district administration regarding this. The collector of Tiruvannamalai district had pointed out that the guidelines of the government would be followed strictly.
