Apollo Hospitals, Tondiarpet, organized a road accident awareness workshop to spread awareness on road safety and offered training in golden hour care to auto/school van drivers in the month of January. Valuing their participation Sanjay Arora, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic gave away certificates and free accident policy worth 1 Lakh to the participants.
The alarming heights of accidents, tragic loss of thousands of human lives and enormous costs incurred of the accidents have transformed this crucial crisis from no body�s concern to every body�s concern. Apollo Hospital organized a workshop early this year to offer first hand training to the drivers on the life saving first aid techniques through live demonstrations by emergency specialist.
More than 4.5 lakh road traffic accidents are reported in India out of which 1.2 lakh person succumb to death every year. Auto, Bus and van drivers are the major witnesses to all such road accidents; most of them have fear in handling the accident victims and giving them the required first aid. Hence through this workshop super specialist doctors of Apollo hospital educated the participants by giving live demonstrations on the handling of accident victims during the golden hour.
Mr.Sanjay Arora, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic distributed certificates and 1 Lakh worth accident insurance policy for free to more than 400 auto rickshaw and school van drivers.
