
The Transport Corporation Unions have announced that they will go on strike of work tomorrow (Friday, 20th January).
All the students throughout Tamil Nadu are organising a protest to withdraw the ban on Jallikkattu. This has met with a popular support from various sectors.
In this scenario, the Employee Unions in the Transport Corporations have announced that they plan to go on strike tomorrow (20TH January).
More than 10 unions in the transport corporations have agreed to this proposal. It is also announced that other facilities such as call-taxi, auto, and vans would not be in service as a token of support to the students.
Hence, it is expected that there will be a great disturbance in the city traffic tomorrow. Coimbatore District Lorries Association has also announced the lorry services would be off the road tomorrow.
With this, there is a strong possibility of a shortage of essential food and other items.
It is gathered that over 10 Lakh vehicles would be off service tomorrow (Friday, 20th January).
As a token of the support to the protesting students, the shops in Coimbatore, Kumbakonam, Tirupur, and Karaikkudi will remain closed tomorrow.
The Head of the Coimbatore District Micro Industries explained that the students are in protest in an unprecedented manner on their stand to demanding to allow Jallikkattu.
