During the dinner hosted in San Jose in for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella said that the company will be a partner in the Digital India programme. He said that Microsoft will ensure that at least five lakh villages in India will receive broadband technology at low costs.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nadella said, We believe that lost-cost broad band connectivity coupled with the scale of cloud computing intelligence that can be harnessed from data can help drive creativity, efficiency and productivity across governments and businesses of all sizes. This in turn would drive more affordable products and services and access to opportunity to all of India... This is a big milestone... A key part of both Make in India and Digital India, bringing world class infrastructure into India, respecting India`s digital security, sovereignty and privacy is a key milestone for us.
