Just as the devotees throng the celebrated temple of Tirupathi and the number of devotees visiting is always increasing, the donations, grants and money contributed by the devotees is rising to phenomenal levels and so is the property worth owned by this temple.

The number of devotees as well as revenues started rising once the mountain route to reach the temple was constructed and opened for the public. The Lord of Tirupathi has lots of properties all over India and abroad.

As some disputes were raised on this property, Andhra High Court ordered that property worth must be calculated. As per this order, the entire property owned by the temple was listed and calculated.

As per the calculations taken in the year 2009, the temple owned lands of 40413.67 acres.

The value of the constructed temple was estimated at Rs, 33447.74 Crores as per the prevailing government rates. However, the external market estimates its worth as over rs. 2 Lakh Crores.

Savings bank account deposits under the name of Tirupathi Lord Venkateswara exceed Rs. 10000 Crores. The annual interest accrued for this deposit is Rs. 744 Crores per year.

Annadhanam (free meals scheme) is being given without any break. A separate annadhnam  trust has been set up for this purpose. For this trust which provides daily annadhanam, donations worth Rs. 591 Crores were received till April, 2015.

Apart from this, Pranadhana Trust received Rs. 200 Crores and other trusts received Rs. 300 Crores as donations.

Donations keep pouring in every day. This would amount to Rs. 100 Crores every year.

During the initial stages after the installation of temple Hundi (donation money collection box kept for the devotees), only a few hundred Rupees were collected. However, the hundi collections on 28th November, 1958, on a single day, exceeded Rs. 1 Lakh and this was considered as an achievement. This collection was primarily made up from a single devotee who put bundles of currency notes worth Rs. 1 Lakh in the hundi. The balance collection worked out to be only Rs. 824.75

However, during the current period, one day`s hundi collection is between Rs. 2 Crores & Rs. 3 Crores!

During the year 2010, 2.44 Crores devotees had the Darshan of the Lord at Tirupathi temple. However, during the current year 2015, over 1.5 Crore devotees has Darshan of the Lord of Tirupathi only within the first 6 months of the year!

With the revenues spiralling up just like the number of devotees visiting this temple,  and taking into account the various donations, Lord Venkatreswara of the famous Tirupathi Temple reigns supreme as the richest in the country!
