Excitement at T Nagar Thirumalai-Tirupathi Devasthanam office when ID was demanded!

Posted on: 26/Aug/2015 5:37:41 PM
Thousands of devotees are travelling to Tirupathi from Tamil Nadu every day to have a Darshan of Lord Srinivasa at Tirupathi. Free Darshan, Rs, 60 ticket Darshan, and Rs, 300/- ticket Darshans are available. There are reservation counters for registering these Darshan tickets throughout the country.

People can also book reservations for these tickets online. While booking online a copy of the ID card with photograph should be attached. Date & time of Darshan will be allotted after submitting these data. This has to be downloaded and taken while travelling to Tirupathi.

Until now, there was no need for ID cards while booking in the TTD counters in various cities. It has now been announced ID would be required. One of the family members should present the ID while booking.  One with ID can book for up to 5 persons. However, as no prior announcements were made regarding this new requirement, devotees who come to book return with disappointment.

At Chennai T Nagar TTD Darshan booking center, IDs were not being asked until recently. When the TTD center suddenly asked for IDs, the devotees had to return with disappointment as they did not bring the IDs. They also indulged in protest-cum-quarrel as they were suddenly asked for IDs.

There was no prior announcement about ID requirement there was not even a note on the Notice Board under this situation, devotees feel it was unfair to ask for IDs. Even people who had come to Chennai from other places for booking had to return disappointed at the failure.

Further, the center has announced that the facility to book 60 days n advance has now been reduced to 30 days. So, bookings can be done only for September and not for October. The devotees were confused.

Frequent changed are being carried out in the Darshan procedure and tickets by TTD. Instead of having the devotees waiting in big halls, the system of asking them to stand in long queues has been introduced. Devotees suffer because of this.

Only if prior and proper announcements are made in advance, these difficulties can be overcome to a certain extent. Plenty of devotees belong to the poor section and are not aware of the latest changes and hence put to hardships.
