Notably, Tirusulam Railway Station, strategically located near the airport, and Chrompet Railway Station, witnessing significant footfall, are among those slated for comprehensive development.

The ongoing Egmore to Chennai Beach Station project is progressing, with an anticipated completion date of June. Vilivakkam Railway Station is poised to become Chennai`s fourth terminal, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

Key infrastructure projects, including the commissioning of the Elephant Gate Bridge by March 15th, Basin Bridge improvements to address monsoon challenges, and the completion of Kilambakkam Railway Station within six months, were outlined during the meeting.

Starting Monday, commuters can benefit from an extension of peak-hour service trips, with five additional trips connecting Tambaram to Guduvanchery. Despite weather-related delays, the railway division remains committed to meeting project deadlines.
