Free NEET Coaching Launched for Government School Students in Tamil Nadu
In a major boost for medical aspirants, the Tamil Nadu School Education Department has launched free NEET coaching classes for government school students across the state.
The initiative aims to support students who have completed Class 12 and registered for the NEET 2026 examination, scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026. Nationwide, nearly 28 lakh students are expected to appear for the exam, including around 1.5 lakh candidates from Tamil Nadu. Among them, approximately 12,000 students from government schools have applied.
Free Coaching Across Districts
To strengthen preparation, free coaching centres have been set up in all districts for eligible students. The sessions are conducted by experienced postgraduate teachers, focusing on syllabus coverage, practice tests, and exam-oriented strategies.
Classes are being held daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring intensive and structured preparation for one of India’s most competitive entrance exams.
Special Coaching Centres in Chennai
In Chennai, the program is being conducted at multiple locations, including the Ashok Nagar Government Girls Higher Secondary School and other designated centres. More than 250 students have already enrolled and are actively attending these sessions.
Training Duration
Officials confirmed that the coaching will continue until May 2, 2026, allowing students to revise thoroughly just ahead of the examination.
