Southern Railway to Operate Special Trains Between Mysuru, Kannur and Bengaluru Cantonment via Salem

To manage passenger rush and ensure a more comfortable travel experience, Southern Railway has announced the operation of special trains on key routes connecting Mysuru, Kannur, and Bengaluru Cantonment.

The additional services are being introduced to accommodate increased passenger demand and provide better rail connectivity during the busy travel period.

Mysuru–Kannur Special Train (No. 06227)

The Mysuru–Kannur Special Train (No. 06227) will depart from Mysuru at 10:30 PM on Saturday.

The train will travel via Krishnarajapuram and Bangarapet, reaching Salem at 5:07 AM on Sunday. After a brief halt, it will depart Salem at 5:10 AM and continue its journey through Erode, Tiruppur, and Podanur, before arriving at Kannur at 2:00 PM.

Kannur–Bengaluru Cantonment Special Train (No. 06228)

The Kannur–Bengaluru Cantonment Special Train (No. 06228) will depart from Kannur at 6:25 PM on Sunday.

The train will run via Podanur, Tiruppur, and Erode, arriving at Salem at 3:17 AM on Monday. It will leave Salem at 3:20 AM, travel through Bangarapet and Krishnarajapuram, and reach Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station at 8:35 AM.

Southern Railway said these special train services have been introduced to reduce congestion on regular trains and offer passengers additional travel options on this important inter-state rail corridor.

Passengers are advised to check train timings, seat availability, and reservation status before planning their journey.
