Heatwave Alert Issued for Four Tamil Nadu Districts; Light Rain Likely in Chennai

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast heatwave conditions in isolated plain areas of Karur, Erode, Thoothukudi, and Tirunelveli districts today.

Residents in these districts are advised to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours.

For Chennai and its surrounding suburbs, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy throughout the day.

The RMC has also predicted light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in a few parts of the city during the evening or night.

Maximum Temperature: Around 37°C to 38°C

Minimum Temperature: Around 27°C

Weather officials have further stated that hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail during the afternoon and evening, which may cause discomfort for residents.
