Palani Rope Car Service to Remain Suspended for 45 Days from July 20 Due to Annual Maintenance

The administration of the Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple in Palani, Dindigul district, has announced that the rope car service will remain suspended for approximately 45 days from July 20 to facilitate its annual maintenance work.

The rope car, which takes around 3 minutes to reach the hill temple and has the capacity to transport nearly 450 devotees per hour, will be temporarily taken out of service during the maintenance period.

Meanwhile, the temple administration has completed the replacement of the steel cable in the third winch, as the previously installed cable had reached the end of its service life. Following the successful completion of the replacement work, the third winch was brought back into operation on Friday evening.

During the suspension of the rope car service, devotees visiting the hill temple are advised to use the winch services or the steps (footpath) to reach the shrine, the temple administration said.
