Greater Chennai Corporation to Vaccinate Over 2 Lakh Street Dogs Against Rabies

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is set to launch a large-scale vaccination drive to administer anti-rabies vaccines to more than 2 lakh street dogs across the city.

As part of the campaign, veterinary teams will visit neighbourhoods throughout Chennai to vaccinate stray dogs against rabies. In addition to vaccination, the dogs will also receive deworming treatment to improve their overall health.

The initiative aims to curb the spread of rabies, enhance public safety, and ensure the welfare of Chennai`s street dog population through vaccination and preventive healthcare rather than removal.
