Commuters say the work appears to be progressing steadily and hope the situation will improve within the next year.
Crossing Tiruvallur town continues to be a major bottleneck due to traffic congestion and multiple speed breakers. However, travellers closer to the Chennai Outer Ring Road suggest taking the ORR – Tiruninravur Exit – Tiruninravur Town – NH716 – Tiruvallur Bypass route, which is relatively smoother and quicker in comparison.
Motorists are advised not to fix strict arrival timings when travelling on this route, as highway conditions significantly impact journey duration. With limited eateries along the bypass stretch, proper planning is essential. Until the expansion works are completed, some travellers recommend opting for train services to avoid unpredictable delays.
