Cabinet Minister Shri Prahlad Joshi to inaugurate Windergy India 2025 in Chennai

The 7th edition of Windergy India 2025, India’s premier international trade fair and conference dedicated to wind energy, will be held from October 29–31 at the Chennai Trade Centre.

The event will be inaugurated by Shri Pralhad Joshi, Cabinet Minister for New and Renewable Energy, along with Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy.

With over 350 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and an expected footfall of 15,000 visitors, Windergy India 2025 offers a vital platform for policy dialogue, innovation exchange, and industry collaboration. India, currently ranked fourth globally in installed wind energy capacity, continues to make significant strides in renewable energy.

Windergy India 2025 is jointly organised by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association and PDA Ventures Private Limited, with support from the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), India Energy Storage Alliance, Indian Wind Power Association, International Solar Alliance, Skill Council for Green Jobs, Wind Independent Power Producer Association, Solar Energy Corporation of India, Composites Excellence Centre of Asia, National Institute of Wind Energy, Hydraulics Trailer Owners Association, Danish Wind Export, Embassy of Spain, Indo-German Energy Forum, Net-Zero Energy Transition Association, Invest India, and Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited joins as the Partner State, showcasing Karnataka’s leadership in wind innovation. Pavilions from Denmark, Germany, and Spain will further enhance the global appeal of the exhibition.

Themed “Wind Power: Policies and Partnerships Towards Aatmanirbharta,” the conference will feature high-impact sessions on October 30–31.

Day 1 opens with the Tulsi R. Tanti Memorial Lecture, followed by discussions on State Leadership: Powering Wind, Wind Manufacturing – Way forward to Atmanirbharta (A Govt. - Industry Dialogue), Global best practices for wind installations and O&M, and Opportunities & Challenges for Cost Reduction of Raw Material Suppliers to Wind Components

Day 2 will explore Opportunities and Challenges in growing the C&I market for wind and hybrid projects, Repowering Wind Projects in India, Domestic Supply Chain & Export CoCompetitiveness, Advancing Offshore Wind Development in India, and Winds of Influence: Women Leaders Redefining India’s Wind Sector.

As of August 2025, the country’s wind power capacity stands at 53 GW, reflecting strong growth and a clear path toward the national target of 150 GW.

The Government of India has introduced key reforms to accelerate sector growth, including a reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) on wind energy equipment from 12% to 5%, which is expected to enhance affordability, stimulate innovation, and support India’s climate and energy security goals.
