Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay Inspects Chennai Metro Rail Works at Kathipara

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay inspected the ongoing Chennai Metro Rail works at Kathipara and reviewed the progress of key Metro infrastructure projects across the city.

Since assuming office, Chief Minister Vijay has been holding department-wise meetings with senior officials to assess ongoing government schemes, infrastructure projects, and development works across Tamil Nadu. As part of these reviews, the Chief Minister focused on the expansion and progress of the Chennai Metro Rail network.

CM Vijay Reviews Chennai Metro Rail Projects at CMRL Headquarters

Chief Minister Vijay visited the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) headquarters in Nandanam, where he held discussions with officials on the progress of ongoing Metro Rail projects.

As part of the inspection, the Chief Minister travelled by Chennai Metro from Government Estate Metro Station to Nandanam before reaching the CMRL headquarters.

During the meeting, officials briefed him on ongoing construction activities, project progress, and infrastructure development related to the Chennai Metro network.

Kathipara Metro Rail Works Inspected

Following the review meeting at Nandanam, Chief Minister Vijay travelled by road to the Guindy-Kathipara area to inspect the Metro Rail construction works underway there.

He reviewed the construction activities around the Kathipara Metro corridor and assessed the progress of the elevated Metro infrastructure.

Kathipara and Guindy are among Chennai`s busiest transport hubs, and the expansion of the Metro network in these areas is expected to strengthen connectivity and provide commuters with improved access to public transportation.

Porur-Poonamallee Metro Corridor Under Review

The Chief Minister`s inspection also covered Metro Rail works along the Porur-Poonamallee corridor, another important section of Chennai`s expanding Metro network.

According to the planned inspection, Chief Minister Vijay was to travel to the Porur Metro area and continue towards Poonamallee to review the progress of Metro construction works along the route.

The Porur-Poonamallee Metro corridor is expected to significantly improve public transport connectivity for residents of western Chennai and surrounding areas.

Chennai Metro Expansion to Improve City Connectivity

The Chennai Metro Rail expansion is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at strengthening public transportation, improving travel convenience, and reducing road congestion across the city.

The Chief Minister`s inspection of the CMRL headquarters, Kathipara construction site, and Porur-Poonamallee corridor highlighted the government`s focus on closely monitoring major urban infrastructure projects.

During the inspection, people gathered in areas including Nandanam and Guindy to welcome Chief M Minister Vijay. The Chief Minister acknowledged the public as he continued his inspection of the Metro Rail works.
