What Automatically Changes for Transitioned Accounts

Safety Safeguards Dropped: Built-in teen restrictions designed by OpenAI to block graphic violence, romantic or violent roleplay, and extreme beauty standard content are deactivated.

Parental Supervision Ends: If an account was previously linked to a guardian`s account via parental control features, the link dissolves. Quiet hours, usage limits, and monitored alerts stop functioning.

Full Adult Feature Access: The account gains unrestricted entry to standard ChatGPT engines, image generation limits, and deep adult mode functionalities.

How to Check and Correct Your Status

If you or your teenager received this notification but are actually under the age of 18, you must manually reverse the age tier setting:

1. Open the Settings menu inside the ChatGPT application or web page.

2. Select the Account section to check current status.

3. Click the explicit age verification prompt to re-submit or fix the age profile back to the protected U18 (Under 18) tier. 

For users who are 18 or older but still want to block graphic, sensitive, or mature output during study or office hours, navigating to Settings Safety and toggling on "Reduce sensitive content" will manually establish a cleaner AI workspace.
