Chennai Weather Today: Rain Likely After Meenambakkam Records 41.1°C

After witnessing scorching heat on Sunday, Chennai is likely to receive mild showers today, bringing some relief to residents. The temperature at Meenambakkam touched a sizzling 41.1°C, making it one of the hottest places in Tamil Nadu.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai weather today may include light rain, thunderstorms, and lightning during evening and night hours. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 38°C.

Several districts including Coimbatore, The Nilgiris, Madurai, and Vellore are also likely to receive heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds over the next two days.

Weather officials said temperatures across Tamil Nadu may gradually reduce due to increased rainfall activity until May 28.
