Popular movie review website Rotten Tomatoes has released a special list of the 100 best films from around the world that run for more than three hours. The list features critically acclaimed movies from different languages and countries.

Among them, three Indian films have earned a spot on this global list.

S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR (2022) has secured an impressive 12th place. Starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, the Telugu blockbuster gained massive international attention for its powerful storytelling, performances, and grand visuals.

Just one place behind, Aamir Khan’s Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) stands at 13th position. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film is remembered for its unique cricket-based storyline and global appeal.

Another Indian film on the list is Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur (2012). Featuring Manoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the crime drama is ranked 79th and is praised for its strong characters and realistic storytelling.

At the very top of the list is Akira Kurosawa’s classic Seven Samurai (1954), which takes the number one spot and continues to be celebrated as one of the greatest films in world cinema.

This list shows that long films, when made well, can leave a lasting impact and connect with audiences across the world.
