Under the restructuring plan, the existing Avadi police district will be bifurcated, resulting in the formation of a new Poonamallee police district.

The Poonamallee police range will also be bifurcated, with a new Thirumazhisai police range to be created.

In the Tambaram Police Commissionerate, the existing Tambaram police district will be bifurcated to create a new Kilambakkam police district.

The Guduvanchery police range will also be bifurcated, leading to the formation of a new Kilambakkam police range.

Officials will be appointed to the newly created police districts and ranges in the coming days.
