Victoria Public Hall Museum Exhibition Opens to Public from Tomorrow
The Greater Chennai Corporation has announced that the museum exhibition at the historic Victoria Public Hall will be open to the public from tomorrow.
Visiting Hours & Entry Rules
Timings: 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Entry Mode: Online pre-booking only
Visitor Limit: A maximum of 60 visitors will be allowed every 1.30 hours
Visitors are required to book their slots in advance to manage crowd flow and ensure a comfortable viewing experience.
Cultural Events & Online Booking
The renovated art auditorium at Victoria Public Hall will also host cultural programmes. Online booking for events can be made through the Chennai Corporation official website.
Restoration & Heritage Significance
The iconic Victoria Public Hall was inaugurated on the 23rd by M. K. Stalin after an extensive restoration carried out at a cost of ₹32.62 crore, preserving its original heritage character.
Originally built in 1887 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, the building stands as a landmark of Chennai’s social and cultural history. The fully restored structure has now been transformed into a vibrant public cultural space, featuring both a museum and a performance venue.
