GCC Publishes List of 717 Abandoned Vehicles Removed from Chennai Roads; Owners Given 15 Days to Claim

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has released the details of 717 abandoned vehicles that were recently removed from roadsides across the city. The list has been published on the official GCC website to help vehicle owners identify and reclaim their vehicles.

According to an official press release, the clearance drive was carried out by the city police in the Triplicane and Taramani police station limits to remove abandoned vehicles that were causing traffic congestion and posing risks to public safety.

The seized vehicles have been parked at their respective police station premises. Vehicle owners have been instructed to visit the Triplicane or Taramani police stations within 15 days from the date of the notice and complete the required formalities to claim their vehicles.

Officials warned that if the vehicles are not claimed within the stipulated period, legal action will be initiated, and the unclaimed vehicles will be disposed of through a public auction in accordance with the law.

Residents are advised to check the list of impounded vehicles on the official Greater Chennai Corporation website and take immediate action if their vehicle has been removed.
