Devotees waited up to 18 hours on Thursday to have darshan of the seven-mountain elephant at Tirumala. The waiting time varied depending on the type of darshan - 18 hours for those without darshan tokens, and 3 to 4 hours for quick darshan costing Rs. 300 or for devotees with free direct darshan tokens.
On Wednesday, a total of 73,853 devotees had darshan, with 22,557 devotees offering their hair. The temple authorities reported that money offerings amounted to Rs. 3.47 crore.
