Salary increase announced for college professors

Salary revision has been announced for the university and college professors as per the recommendations of the 7th Wages Revision Committee. A maximum monthly salary of Rs. 1.82 Lakhs has been fixed.
As per the 7th Wages Revision Committee recommendations, the monthly salaries of the teachers and the government servants have already been revised upwards.
In this situation, a salary increase has been announced as per the above for the professors, associate professors working in the universities, government colleges, and the government-aided colleges.
As per this revision, the assistant professors will get a minimum monthly salary of Rs. 57700. The professors will get a monthly minimum salary of Rs. 1.82 Lakhs. This upwards salary revision will come into effect from 1st October 2017. The related state government order has been released by the Tamil Nadu State government’s Department of Higher Education.
