Google Offers Free One-Year Gemini AI Plan to Eligible Students

Google is giving eligible college students a chance to access its AI-powered tools for free for one year as part of a new student-focused initiative.

The company has launched a dedicated student hub that brings together Gemini-powered tools designed to support studying, research and exam preparation. Students can use the hub to organise their studies, create study notebooks and flashcards, take practice quizzes and explore other learning features.

Free Google AI Plus for Students in India

In the US, eligible students can receive Google AI Pro free for one year. For students in other countries, including India, Google is offering Google AI Plus at no cost for 12 months.

In India, Google AI Plus normally costs Rs 399 per month, or Rs 4,788 for a year at the monthly rate. Under the new offer, eligible students can access the plan free for one year.

The plan provides access to Gemini and other AI-powered services, along with higher usage limits and cloud storage. Students can also use Gemini within supported Google applications.

AI Tools Designed for Studying

Google`s student-focused features include study notebooks, which provide a structured space for creating personalised lessons based on a student`s strengths and knowledge gaps. Students can use the feature to track their progress and prepare for exams.

Interactive visualisations can generate tables, grids and 3D simulations to make complex subjects easier to understand.

Students can also use Gemini Live for conversational learning, allowing them to discuss questions, work through problems and interact with study materials stored in Google Drive.

Google is also offering eligible students discounts on YouTube Premium as part of the initiative.
