West Asia Tensions Disrupt Chennai Flight Operations; 20 Flights Delayed, Colombo Services Cancelled

Escalating tensions in West Asia have disrupted flight operations at Chennai International Airport, causing significant delays and cancellations that affected hundreds of passengers.

According to airport sources, 10 arriving flights and 10 departing flights, including services to and from Abu Dhabi and Dubai, were delayed by up to three hours due to operational disruptions linked to the ongoing conflict in the region.

Additionally, SriLankan Airlines cancelled both the Colombo–Chennai and Chennai–Colombo flights scheduled for today.

Passengers faced considerable inconvenience as no timely or official announcements were made regarding the cancellations, leaving many stranded at the airport without adequate information.

Airport authorities have advised passengers travelling on international routes to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines before proceeding to the airport, as services may continue to be affected by the evolving situation in West Asia.
