Maha Kumbhabhishekham of Sri Kamakshi Amman temple

Maha Kumbhabhishekham was performed at the famous Kancheepuram Sri Kamakshi Amman temple between 9 am and 10 am. Thousands of devotees have thronged the temple to witness this holy Kumbhabhishekham from outstations.
Earlier the Kumbhabhishekham for this powerful and oldest temple took place in the year 1995. After 22 years, renovation works of the temple took place at a cost of Rs 35 Crores.
The yagasalai pooja for the Kumbhabhishekham commenced on February 3. The seven-session main homam for the consecration of the presiding deity and other deities, including the Aadhi Varaha Perumal of Thirukalvanoor Divya Shetram commenced on 6th morning and culminated today.
Maha Kumbhabhishekham was performed by the divine hands of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati Jagadguru Pujyashri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal and Jagadguru Pujyashri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal.
