Maha Kumbhabhishekham performed at Samayapuram temple

Maha Kumbhabhishekham was performed today morning in a grand manner at Trichy Samayapuram Arulmigu Mariamman Temple. This Kumbhabhishekham which is being held after 12 years is being performed at cost of Rs 25 Crores and 39 Lakhs. For the last two days Yaga Salai Poojais were performed.
Today morning the Maha Kumbhabhishekham was performed amidst the chants of Vedic mantras by more than 200 Shivachariyaars. Around 7 am the holy waters were sprinkled at the Gopuram Kalasams. Thousands of devotees witnessed this Maha Kumbhabhishekham. Heavy police have been deployed in and around the temple premises. The temple authorities have mentioned that devotees can have free darshan till 11 pm tonight. Here are photographs of the event.
