Never tag the person. Tag only the action - Morning Thought by J Sampath, Founder and CEO of JB Soft System

A person is not permanently good or bad.

A person may do something good.
A person may do something wrong.
A person may behave in a way we never expected.

But that action should not become their identity.

In business and leadership, this distinction is very important.

When someone`s performance or behaviour does not meet expectations, don`t immediately label them as careless, incapable, disloyal, a failure, or a bad person.

Instead:

Understand the action.
Guide them.
Train them.
Monitor the improvement.
Check whether the system needs correction.
Improve the workflow and process.
Give them a fair opportunity to succeed.

And finally, if their skills, attitude, or actions still do not suit the role or the organisation, it may be necessary to let them go.

Even then, release them with grace.

Don`t send a person away feeling like a sinner, a loser, or a worthless human being.

You can reject an action.
You can correct a behaviour.
You can change a responsibility.
You can end a professional relationship.

But you don`t have to destroy a person`s dignity to do any of these.

Protect your peace.
Protect the organisation.
And uphold the dignity of the person.

Guide actions. Improve systems. Make thoughtful decisions. And always treat every human being with dignity and respect.

When it is time to let go, let go gracefully.
