Imagine a New Employee

Suppose a new employee joins your office.

On the first day, they know nothing about your company.

You start training them.

You give them company policies.

You explain your products.

They observe experienced staff.

After months of learning, they become more capable.

AI learns in a somewhat similar way - except that it learns from enormous amounts of digital information.

What is AI?

Artificial Intelligence is a computer system designed to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence.

These tasks include:

- Understanding language

- Answering questions

- Writing articles

- Translating languages

- Recognizing images

- Generating pictures

- Writing computer code

- Summarizing documents

- Making recommendations

AI does not have feelings, emotions, or personal opinions.

It works by recognizing patterns in data.

Step 1 – AI Learns from Huge Amounts of Information

Before AI can answer questions, it must be trained.

Imagine a child learning to speak.

The child listens to thousands of conversations before speaking.

Similarly, AI studies billions of words from books, articles, websites, research papers, publicly available information, andnd other licensed sources.

From this, AI learns:

- Grammar

- Language

- Facts

- Relationships between words

- Patterns of writing

It does not memorize every sentence.

Instead, it learns how language works.

Step 2 – AI Converts Words into Numbers

Computers cannot understand words directly.

For a computer:

"Apple"

is not a fruit.

It is simply data.

Therefore, every word, sentence, and paragraph is converted into numbers.

These numbers represent meaning.

Words with similar meanings are placed closer together mathematically.

For example:

- Car

- Automobile

- Vehicle

will have similar numerical representations.

This allows AI to understand meaning instead of matching only exact words.
