Chief Minister Vijay Congratulates Tamil Film Industry for Winning 10 National Film Awards

Chief Minister Vijay has congratulated the artists and technicians of the Tamil film industry for winning 10 National Film Awards at the 72nd National Film Awards, which recognize films released in 2024.

In a statement, the Chief Minister praised the remarkable achievement of Tamil cinema and extended his best wishes to all the award winners.

The film "Raayan", directed by and starring Dhanush, received the Best Tamil Feature Film award.

The film "Captain Miller" won the Best Film Promoting National, Social, and Environmental Values award. Actor Dhanush also received the Best Actor (Special Jury Award) for his performance in the film.

For the film "Amaran", Rajkumar Periasamy won the Best Director award, Kalaivanan received the Best Editing award, and G.V. Prakash Kumar was honoured with the Best Background Score award.

The film "Maharaja" earned Anbariv the Best Action Direction (Stunt Choreography) award, while Sachana Namidass won the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance.

In addition, Suren G received the Best Sound Mixing (Special Jury Award) for "Meiyazhagan", and Harihara Sudhan won the Best Sound Design award for the short film "Blue."

The Chief Minister stated that Tamil cinema winning 10 National Film Awards is a matter of great pride. He also expressed hope that the Tamil film industry would continue to achieve greater success and receive many more national honours in the years to come.
