Temperature crosses 100 Degrees in 13 places in Tamil Nadu!

On Sunday, 19th May, more than 13 places in Tamil Nadu State recorded a temperature of over 100 Degrees.

A maximum temperature of 108 Degrees Fahrenheit was recorded at Vellore, Tiruthani, and Karur Paramathi. Madurai South recorded 106 Degrees, Salem and Thanjavur -104, Palayamkottai and Dharmapuri-103 Degrees, Chennai Meenambakkam and Namakkal – 101 Degrees, and Coimbatore Airport- 100 Degrees.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre official shared regarding this:

‘The heat intensity was rather high in a few places in the State of Tamil Nadu on Sunday, 19th May. It rained in a few places as well! This weather condition will prevail on Monday also (today, 20th May). Hot, fiery winds are likely to blow across in a few places in Tamil Nadu.

A conducive environment is prevailing over a few sections of the South Bay of Bengal, North Andaman Ocean, and the Andaman Islands to facilitate the onset of the southwest monsoon rainy season in the next 2 to 3 days.

There are prospects of mild rain in 1 or 2 places today (Monday, 20th May) in Tamil Nadu. Especially, the prospects of mild rain is quite strong in the areas of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Theni, Virudhunagar, and Tirunelveli Districts.’
