The Chennai Meteorological Centre officials shared:
The low-pressure zone which prevailed over the equator area of the Indian Ocean and Kanyakumari Ocean has weakened. Meanwhile, there is a compounded low-pressure zone with cyclonic format prevailing over Telangana extending up to Kanyakumari Ocean zone via the interior districts of Tamil Nadu.
Because of the above phenomenon, there are prospects of mild rain in 1 or 2 places in the southern coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Further, there are prospects of powerful high-speed winds blowing across with lighting and thunder in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.`
